JAMMU, Aug 29: Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Viswa Vidyalya Kathua today undertook relief material distribution exercise in flood affected areas of the district.
Head of Brahma Kumaris Centres of Kathua B.K Veena Ji along with Dr. Bharat Bhushan, MLA Kathua and Raghunandan Singh Bablu, DDC Vice Chairman conducted relief distribution in Khokhyal and Khanyara Manjli villages of Kathua.
Brahma Kumaris B.K Shashi, B.K Usha, B.K Mannu, B.K Arti, B.K Suresh Bhai, B.K Govind Bhai, B.K Tirath Bhai, B.K Sita Kant Bhai and others assisted in distribution of the relief material.
It is pertinent to mention here that the cloudburst of August 16 at Bagra and Jodh villages bought havoc for Kathua villages Bagra, Kharote, Janglote, Dilwan, Bijjit, Panyara, Khanyara, Manjli, Khokhyal, Sherpur, Chak Drab Khan and Jamalpur villages.
The relief material distribution was part of the objective of Brahma Kumaris under the leadership of B.K Veena Ji to reach out to the affected families and help them.
The relief material distributed included gas cylinders, rice, atta, gas lighter, torch, sugar, tea, biscuits, kitchen essentials and double blankets. About sixty worst affected families were provided relief material.
MLA Kathua and affected villagers thanked the Brahma Kumaris especially B.K Veena Ji and her team for helping the people in crisis. Social activists Ravi Andotra, Pawan, G.D Manyal, Amit Sudan, Bhanu Partap and others assisted in distribution of relief material.
