RAJOURI, Jan 16: A panic gripped the Dodasan Balla area of Gurah, in Thannamandi after a leopard attacked a minor boy today.
The injured has been identified as Mohd Sajjad (15), son of Mohd Fareed, a resident of Panchayat, Dodasan Balla, Gurah (Ward No.2). The boy sustained injuries in the sudden leopard attack and was rescued by locals who came out with lathis. He was then immediately rushed to Community Health Centre (CHC) Thannamandi, where he has been admitted for medical treatment.
The injured boy is under medical observation and is receiving necessary treatment. His condition is stated to be stable.
The incident has triggered fear among the local residents, who have urged the concerned authorities, particularly the Wildlife Department, to take immediate measures to track the leopard and ensure the safety of people in the area.
