Bovines smuggling bids foiled

JAMMU, July 7: Police have foiled bovines smuggling bids.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Akhnoor laid a naka and intercepted a rashly driven vehicle.
During checking, police team rescued 18 bovine animals from the truck and arrested two persons, who were identified as Mohd Hanief, son of Shukar Din of Tharar Balli Nallah District Udhampur and Mohd Farooq, son of Chirag Din of Balli Nallah District Udhampur. One of their associate identified as Maroof, son of Abdul Gani of Belicharana District Jammu escaped from the spot by taking advantage of darkness.
A case FIR Number 196/2022 under sections 279, 188 and 34 IPC, 11 PCA Act, 50, 52, 54 and 56 Transportation of Animal Act 1978 and relevant provisions of MV Act was registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Hilal Azhar foiled the bid under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
Meanwhile, teams from Police Station Nagrota led by Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh and Police Post Manwal led by SI Ayub Khan under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar rescued 12 bovine animals and arrested three persons, who were identified as Alam Din, son of Shafi Mohd of Laswara District Jammu,
Manohar Lal Sharma, son of Ramkishan Sharma of District Samba and Tarlok Chand, son of Paras Ram of Parnote District Ramban.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Police Stations Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
