REASI, Mar 8: The police foiled two attempts of bovines smuggling in Reasi district and rescued four milch animals today.
Official sources said that the teams of district Police Reasi laid special nakas, and arrested four bovine smugglers and rescued four bovines being illegally carried by them.
Team of Police Station Pouni laid a naka and during checking, intercepted one Vehicle bearing Registration No. JK02CH-2790 driven by Mohd Fiaz, son of Zair, resident of Khabar in Rajouri accompanied by co- driver Zulfkar Ali from Tarryat, carrying two bovine animals without any permission.
In this regards, a case FIR No. 17/2025 U/S 223 BNS 11(1)(a) PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Pouni.
In another incident police team in Pouni area foiled bovines smuggling attempt and seized vehicle No. JK11H-1805, driven by Bachan Lal, son of Vaid Prakash from Khwaas and rescued two milch animals. The co- driver namely Kirpal Singh, son of Budhi Singh hailing from Khwaas in Rajouri was also arrested along with Bachan Lal.
In this regards, a case FIR No. 18/2025 U/S 223 BNS 11(1)(a) PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Pouni and investigation initiated.
