JAMMU, Sept 6: Sidhra and Manwal Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 34 cattle and arresting 2 persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Sidhra Police Post led by SI Ayub Khan laid a naka and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK13E-1596.
During checking, police team rescued 20 bovine animals from the vehicle and seized it.
In this connection, a case under FIR Number 341/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Manwal Police Post led by Vikram Singh laid a naka and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number PB46H-9815.
During checking, police team rescued 14 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested the driver along with his associate.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation initiated.
The arrests were made under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Sharma and SP Rural Suram Singh.
