Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 32 cattle rescued, 3 arrested

JAMMU, Aug 24: Jhajjar Kotli and Nagrota Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 32 cattle and arresting three smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station led by SHO Inspector Rajesh Khajuria laid a naka and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK03G- 6460.
During checking, police team rescued 17 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested the driver along with his helper.
Meanwhile, a team from Nagrota Police Station led by SHO Mohammad Shoket during checking intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK08A-9945.
During frisking, police team rescued 15 bovines from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Jarnail Singh, son of Madan Singh of Simbal District Jammu.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Jhajjar Kotli and Nagrota Police Stations and investigation started.
The arrest was made under supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma and SP Rural Jammu Suram Singh.
