JAMMU, Feb 20: Channi Himmat police foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 10 cattle.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Channi Himmat Police Station laid a naka and signaled a Mahindra vehicle to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but lost control over the vehicle and it turned turtle.
During checking, police rescued 10 bovine animals from the vehicle and seized it, while the accused managed to escape from the spot by taking benefit of the darkness.
A case under FIR Number 17/18 has been registered at Channi Himmat Police Station and investigation started.
