Bovines smuggling bid foiled, 2 held

RAJOURI, Oct 6: The police foiled bovines smuggling attempt in Manjakote area of Rajouri district and arrested two persons in this connection.
Reports said in a naka laid today by a police team from Police Station Manjakote, led by SHO Imran Khan under the supervision of SDPO, Shahid Nahiem, at Link Road Hayatpura, a Tata Magic vehicle (Registration No. JK11-G 1376), which was on its way from Rajouri towards Surankote, was stopped for inspection.
Upon checking, the police team found three bovine animals being transported in the vehicle without valid permission from the competent authority.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Vanish Sharma, son of Som Raj, resident of Thandhi Kassi, Rajouri, while his associate was identified as Gulshan Hussain, son of Mohd Sadiq, resident of House No. 38, Ward No. 10, Rajouri. Both were arrested.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 86/2025 under Section 223 BNS and 11 PC Act has been registered at Police Station Manjakote, and the investigation is currently in progress.
