Bovines loaded 2 vehicles seized

RAJOURI, Mar 28: The police seized two vehicles loaded with bovine animals in Thannamandi area of district Rajouri today.
An official spokesman said that a Thanamandi Police team led by  Inspector Sachinder Pal Singh, achieved success in curbing bovine smuggling during routine checking at Sora Pul Nakka.
During the checking, two vehicles bearing registration numbers JK11E-0969 and JK11E-7564 were intercepted.
Upon checking, police recovered three bovine animals from each vehicle, making a total of six bovine animals, which were being transported in violation of law towards Kashmir.
The driver of vehicle JK11E-0969, identified as Mudasir Khan, son of Mohd Khaliq Khan, resident of District Rajouri, has been arrested on the spot. However, the driver of the second vehicle managed to escape from the scene.
In this regard, FIR No. 27/2026 and FIR No. 28/2026 under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) have been registered at Police Station Thanamandi, and further investigation has been initiated.
