JAMMU, Mar 1: Police in Jammu’s Jourian area has foiled two separate bovine smuggling bids and rescued seven animals from the clutches of the smugglers.
A police official said that a Mahindra Pickup (JK19A-5356) and an Alto car (JK02CR-5319) carrying the animals were seized from naka Muthi Mehra, Jourian.
He said, while the accused drivers of the vehicles managed to escape from the spot, their vehicles have been seized, with seven animals being transported illegally by them rescued.
He said FIRs under the relevant sections of the law have been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and further investigations taken up.
