RAJOURI, Sept 28: The police seized a vehicle loaded with bovine animals and foiled a cattle-smuggling attempt in Manjakote area of district Rajouri today.
A police spokesman said that a police team, led by SHO Imran Khan under the supervision of SDPO Shahid Nahiem, today laid a special naka at Link Road Neali. During checking, a Bolero vehicle bearing registration number JK12-6029, coming from Nowshera towards Surankote, was intercepted. Upon inspection, four bovine animals were found loaded in the vehicle without valid permission from the competent authority.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Mohd Latief, resident of Chak Katroo, Tehsil Haveli, while the co-driver as Adris Khan, son of Mohd Sayed Khan, resident of Chandak, Tehsil Haveli, District Poonch.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 81/2025 under Section 223 BNS and 11 PC Act has been registered at Police Station Manjakote, and further investigation is underway.
