Bovine smuggling bid foiled

JAMMU, Aug 23: Police in Kanachak thwarted a smuggling attempt and rescued two bovines from an auto load carrier during naka checking at Ring Road Kangrail.
According to police, an auto (JK02DL-3202) coming from Marh side was intercepted at Kangrail Chowk after the driver, identified as Reham Ali of Harsha Tokarian, Marh, tried to flee. Two bovines, found tied cruelly without fodder or water, were rescued.
A case FIR Number 118/2025 under sections 223 BNS and 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Kanachak, and further investigation is in progress.
