Bovine smuggling bid foiled

DODA, Mar 19: Police has successfully foiled a bovine smuggling attempt, rescuing five cattle and seizing the vehicle involved in the act.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from Police Station Thathri intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK14A/1270 during the intervening night of March 18-19 at Thathri. Upon inspection, the vehicle was found to be carrying smuggled cattle. While the police managed to seize the vehicle and rescue the animals, the driver fled the scene under the cover of darkness. Efforts are underway to trace and apprehend him.
A case has been registered under FIR Number 15/2025 at Police Station Thathri under relevant sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and other applicable laws.
