UDHAMPUR, Sept 14: Police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling in Latti area and rescued 10 bovine animals even as the smugglers managed to flee.
During patrolling duty at Gugal Pattangarh area of Tehsil Latti Marothi, the police team received credible information regarding bovine smuggling by two persons namely Murad Ali son of Yousif of Dhanas, Chenani, and Mohd Sadiq son of Saif Din of Bain, Chenani. They were taking 10 bovine animals on foot from Kair Gala towards Srinagar without any valid permission.
On noticing the police party, both accused fled from the spot. However, all 10 bovines were safely rescued.
In this connection, case FIR number 17/2025, under section 223 BNS & 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Latti, and a manhunt has been launched to nab the accused persons.
