RAMBAN, Mar 14: A bootlegger along with illicit liquor was nabbed today by Batote police.
“On specific inputs that one person namely Jung Bahadur Singh alias Makhan son of Des Raj, resident of Sanasar, is selling the illicit liquor at high rates near Bus-stand Sanasar, a team of police station Batote led by PSI Kanwaljeet Singh rushed to the spot and nabbed the bootlegger with 17 bottles (750 ml each) of ‘Desi Wiskey’ from his possession, which he was selling to tourists at high rates,” a police official said.
He said that the illicit liquor recovered from the bootlegger was seized while a case FIR Number 18/2021 under Section 48 (A) of Excise Act was registered in this connection in police station Batote.
The arrest and recovery was made by Inspector Ranjeet Rao, SHO police station Batote under the supervision of Rajinder Chib (Deputy SP Headquarters Ramban) and overall supervision of Rajni Sharma (Additional SP Ramban).
