DODA, June 17: Police here today arrested a bootlegger and recovered illicit liquor from him.
Giving details in this regard, SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta said that cops from Police Post Pul Doda led by IC PP, SI Ishan Sharma were on a routine checking duty at Pul Doda and they intercepted an electric auto bearing registration number JK06B-8221 driven by Vinod Singh, son of Kunj Lal, resident of Gadan Bhagwah. On checking the vehicle cops found 13 bottles (750 ml each) of liquor meant for illegal sale.
In this regard, a case in FIR no. 145/2025 US 48 (a) Excise Act was registered at Police Station Doda and investigation started.
SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta has appealed the general public to cooperate with cops and provide information regarding any kind of criminal activity is their area so that timely action can be taken.
