KATHUA, Jan 16: Police Station Bani today arrested one bootlegger and recovered 27 bottles of JK Special Whisky (375 ml each) from his possession.
“During naka checking in the jurisdictional area of Police Station Bani, a police team intercepted one person namely Madan Lal son of Parmanand and a resident of Barmota (Bani), on suspicion,” a police spokesman said.
The spokesman said during checking, 27 bottles of JK Special Whisky were recovered from the illegal possession of the suspect which he had kept in his possession in order to gain illegitimate profit by selling the same to people of concerned area.
The recovered consignment of illicit liquor was seized and the suspected person was arrested. In this connection, a case vide FIR Number 06/2025 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act stands registered at Police Station Bani and investigation has been initiated.
