Bootlegger held with illicit liquor

DODA, Nov 22: Continuing its drive against the menace of illicit liquor, Bhadarwah police today arrested a bootlegger and recovered 42 bottles of illicit liquor at Kotli area.
Police sources said that on specific information about the sale of illicit liquor, a police team led by SI Mohd Yaqoob under the supervision of SHO Bhadarwah Inspector Suresh Gautam, laid a naka at Kotli Bridge on Bhadarwah-Doda Road and arrested one bootlegger.
“One person who was carrying a bag and was on his way from Kotli Bridge towards Seri Bazaar Bhadarwah, tried to escape on seeing the police during naka checking but due to hectic efforts the police party caught him and during search 42 bottles including 22 quarters of desi liquor weighing 250/250 ml and 20 quarters of desi liquor weighing 180/180 ml recovered from his possession, “sources added.
The accused was identified as Inder Dass Kotwal son of Nath Ram of Radio Station Bhadarwah, sources said, adding, a case vide FIR Number 142/2020 under Section 48 (f) Excise Act was registered in this connection at police station Bhadarwah and further investigation initiated.
The recovery was made under the close supervision of SP Bhadarwah Raj Singh Gouria and SSP Doda Mumtaz Ahmed.
