UDHAMPUR, Nov 1: Police today arrested a bootlegger and recovered large quantity of illicit liquor from his possession in Chenani area of the district.
Police spokesman said that, during routine checking, police party from Chenani Police Station intercepted a person namely Krishan Singh, son of Hari Ram of Gantwal, tehsil Chenani.
During checking, police recovered 40 pouches of J&K Excise liquor, two quarters and one bottle, from his possession, which he was carrying for black-marketing.
A case FIR number 113/12 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Chenani Police Station and investigation started.
