JAMMU, July 13: In a function organised by Ex-Servicemen Welfare Committee here today at Gadigarh, the book ‘Shoorveer’ was released by Col. R.K Sharma, (retired) who has been awarded with Kirti Chakra, Shaurya Chakra and Sena Medal for his exceptional courage and bravery.
The book ‘Shoorveer’ about Col. R.K Sharma is a compilation of his life and valorous deeds.
The ceremony was attended by a large gathering of ex-servicemen, locals, social workers and youth.
On this occasion Col. Sharma’s wife, Shashi Sharma, was felicitated with ‘Veerangana Samman’ for her sacrifices and support to her husband during his service.
The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Col. Dev Anand Lohamaroor, National president, Ex-Servicemen Welfare Committee, Ashwani Sharma, former MLA and Rajendra Sharma, former Mayor.
Other notable speakers who spoke on the occasion included Sarpanch Shamsher Singh, Kulwant Singh Bhatti, Dr. Mohit Sharma, Dr. Nav Balaram, ADC Tilak Shastri and several other ex-servicemen and citizens.
The ceremony concluded with National Anthem recitation.
