Book Fair commences at Kala Kendra

JAMMU, Nov 12: National Book Trust (NBT), New Delhi in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Kala Kendra started a 12 days’ Jammu Book Fair today at G.R Santosh Gallery, Kala Kendra.
The fair will remain there till Nov 22 daily from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Sunaina Mehta, Secretary, Jammu Municipality Corporation inaugurated the Book Fair in the presence of Shyam Lal Kori, Incharge, Jammu Book Fair; Vijay Saraf, Secretary Amar Singh Club and Dr. Arvinder Singh, Secretary, Kala Kendra and Additional Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL).
Speaking on the occasion, Sunaina Mehta hailed NBT, Kala Kendra and JKAACL for organizing Jammu Book Fair and said that this fair will encourage and boost the youth, in particular, for linking them with book culture. She further said that 2500 titles of books in Hindi, English, Urdu, Dogri, Punjabi and titles of nine local regional languages like Dogri, Gojri, Pahari, Punjabi, Kashmiri, Urdu, Ladakhi, Balti and Chhina languages under the publications of JKAACL have been displayed in the fair.
Shyam Lal Kori, Accounts Officer & Incharge Book Fair disclosed that the Book Fair may be organized in Kashmir in summers.
Dr. Arvinder Singh informed that Academy publications have also been displayed with the classics of Indian languages in the collaborative event.
Some of the tiles of books displayed in the Book Fair are Our Parliament, Our Constitution, What is Science?, Random Curiosity, Freedom Struggle, Sardar Balabh Bhai Patel etc.
