An official said that the incident occurred on Thursday when the porters were moving towards Anita Post, a forward area that remains cut off during winter due to heavy snowfall. While crossing a snow-covered and slippery stretch, both lost balance and fell into the nallah.
Army and local rescue teams launched a search operation despite harsh weather and difficult terrain. After sustained overnight efforts, the bodies were retrieved.
