JAMMU, Aug 31: Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu and Anjuman-e-Haidery, New Plots, along with Mobilization Educational and Welfare Society Ladakh (MEWSL), in collaboration with Care Bridge Women, Child and Youth Welfare Society Doda, organized a mega blood donation camp under the initiative “Raqt Daan Maha Daan” at Karbala Complex, Wazarat Road.
The camp was supported by BEE ENN General Hospital Blood Centre, which also provided certificates of appreciation and refreshments to donors. Qualified doctors, paramedics and volunteers ensured safe and hygienic procedures throughout the drive.
Senior journalist and J&K Waqf Board member Sohail Kazmi was the chief guest. He also donated blood. He termed it an act of great humanitarian service, supporting patients suffering from cancer, thalassemia, accidents, surgeries and other medical emergencies.
Speaking on the occasion, Aslam Qureshi (retired IAS) said donating blood is one of the noblest acts of humanity, helping build a strong community of voluntary donors. “We invite everyone – students, professionals, homemakers and senior citizens – to participate and save lives,” he added.
Prof Sujat Khan, general secretary of Anjuman-e-Imamia, said the camp aimed at spreading awareness about voluntary blood donation. “This is the only donation that breaks all barriers of society, ensuring no life is lost due to shortage,” he remarked.
Usman Ul Haq, president of Care Bridge Women, Child and Youth Welfare Society, emphasized that the campaign united people from all walks of life with the mission of giving the gift of life.
Syed Afaq Hussain Kazmi, vice president, said the camp seeks to build a sustainable blood bank network for Jammu and surrounding regions.
