POONCH, Feb 25: As part of the ongoing public outreach programme, a block diwas meeting was today held at Lassana under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma.
The programme witnessed the presence of all district and sectoral officers, including officials from Revenue, Health, Education, Jal Shakti, Rural Development, PDD and other allied departments.
A large number of people from Lassana and adjoining areas participated in the programme and projected their grievances and demands.
The issues raised by the public primarily pertained to road connectivity, healthcare facilities, educational infrastructure, drinking water supply, implementation of MGNREGA works, electricity supply and other essential services.
The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the grievances and assured the public that their genuine concerns would be addressed on priority.
He directed the concerned officers to immediately look into the issues and ensure timely redressal in a coordinated manner. The officers were instructed to maintain close monitoring and submit action taken reports within stipulated timelines.
While reviewing the sector-wise issues, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized prompt delivery of public services and accountability at all levels.
He stressed that field functionaries must remain accessible to the public and ensure that no genuine grievance remains unattended.
Directions were issued regarding the uninterrupted supply of electricity and drinking water during the holy month of Ramzan.
The concerned departments were instructed to put in place necessary arrangements to ensure smooth and adequate services, particularly during Sehri and Iftaar hours.
The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the administration commitment to responsive governance and assured the public that such outreach programmes would continue to strengthen the interface between the administration and the people.
The programme concluded with on-the-spot redressal of several grievances and issuance of directions for the resolution of remaining issues in a time-bound manner.
