SAMBA, Apr 19: Accusing the BJP of betraying the sentiments of people of Jammu over a host of issues, JKPCC working president and Congress candidate from Jammu-Reasi Parliamentary seat Raman Bhalla today said that BJP’s wrong policies have caused the greatest disillusionment to its own electorates what to speak of others in J&K.
Addressing series of election meetings and road shows at Bhadori, Gurha Slathia,  Sunjwan, Sumb, Mandi Thalora,  Mandi Sangwali, Mandhi Ghar, Mandhi Khari, Kehli Mandi, Sarore in Samba district today Bhalla said that  BJP has persistently belied the aspirations of Jammu people ever since its ascendance to power. Its cowardly surrenders are still a fresh in the minds of people.  It was BJP govt which had refused to listen to the shrill cries of the nationalist people of Jammu region seeking restoration of 4G mobile internet services thus keeping them deprived of the said facility for around 18 months without any justifiable reason.
Maintaining that BJP had dishonoured the massive mandate given to it by Jammu region, Bhalla said that its power intoxicated leadership invariably caused a huge dent upon Dogra pride and honour. “Our development had been relegated to the background with entire focus on baseless issues even after reorganization of the state. The daily rated workers of different Deptts remained without wages for months together with none to listen to their tale of woes.
Seeking the support of the people in the party’s fight against injustice and bias against Jammu region, Bhalla said that Congress would persist with its campaign to oppose, expose and to finally depose the BJP for its politics of subterfuge and deception. He said that the decision of the BJP Government of downgrading of the State had been full of shock and offence for the nationalist people of J&K who felt betrayed and downgraded post abrogation of Special Status.
Bhalla further said that not only had the BJP regime dismantled the oldest Dogra state and demoted it as UT, but it had deprived its people of certain special privileges envisioned by the late Maharaja for the welfare of his subjects especially those pertaining to land and jobs. He lambasted the BJP for having done the greatest disservice to J&K by demoting it to the level of UT. After August 5, 2019, opening of lands and jobs to outsiders came as a rude shocker for the people of J&K.
Bhalla cautioned voters against BJP’s hollow slogans which is master of downplaying the sentiments of people of Dogra land who gave it massive mandate in elections. He said BJP has lost its credibility in Jammu region, J&K people now confident that Congress alone can fill the void and provide an alternative to the people of J&K.
Prominent among those who accompanied Bhalla include Ex- Minister Yashpal Kundal,  treasurer Rajnish Sharma Mian,  Distt president Sanjeev Sharma, NC leader Sudagar Mal Gupta, Sarpanch Shamima, H S Slathia, DDC Rajni Devi, Appu Singh Slathia, MP Singh, Adhu Hussain, Vinod Kumar, Master Davinder Singh Dr Ramesh Singh Slathia and others.
