JAMMU, Mar 20: Balbir Ram Rattan, spokesperson of the J&K Bharatiya Janata Party today said that the party’s growing support base in Jammu and Kashmir has unsettled the National Conference (NC), which he claimed is apprehensive about facing electoral setbacks in upcoming polls.
Reacting to a statement by an NC provincial president alleging that the BJP is losing ground in Jammu, Rattan termed the remarks as “false and misleading,” asserting that the NC leadership is disconnected from ground realities. He said the BJP has consistently improved its performance in successive elections, including Assembly, DDC, BDC and ULB polls, with a rising vote share across the Union Territory.
Rattan attributed this growth to the party’s pro-nation, pro-development and pro-people policies, as well as public endorsement of the Centre’s initiatives. He added that increasing support for the BJP has created insecurity among NC leaders.
Highlighting development, he said Jammu is witnessing major progress in infrastructure, healthcare, education and connectivity, ending decades of neglect and placing the region at the forefront of growth.
