JAMMU, July 31: In a desperate bid to disrupt the peaceful Jammu bandh call, the frustrated BJP’s activists attacked the peaceful procession of AIIMS Coordination Committee in front of their party headquarters, Kacchi Chawni, here this morning.
Chairman AIIMS CC and president JKHCBA, Jammu, Abhinav Sharma condemned the unprovoked attack on the peaceful demonstrators including women and elderly persons and said that this will prove to be the last nail in the BJP’s coffin.
While addressing a mammoth rally in the old city, Mr Sharma lambasted BJP and said that today the BJP even violated the sanctity of sacred Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Bhawan where its activists acted as hooligans and ruffians. He pointed out that the frustration and desperation of BJP has reached to such a point that they pelted stones on the rally of AIIMS CC in which large number of youth, women and elderly people participated. He further said that the BJP activists even snatched the tear gas guns from some of the police personnel and themselves fired teargas shells at the rally.
“As if the repeated lies of BJP were not enough, BJP chose to hoodwink public by distributing `Ladoos’ and performing Bhangras over what they considered as the defeat of Jammu people and victory of their betrayal. They even forgot that yesterday was the day national mourning and last rites of former President of India were being performed.
Chairman AIIMS CC asked the people of Jammu to be prepared for a decisive battle with the political establishment hell bent upon imposing a state of slavery on the nationalist people of Jammu. He appealed to the people of Jammu region to make three day long bandh a grand success.
Among others who addressed the rally included Dr C L Gupta, retd Sessions Judge and president JPPF, Pavitar Singh, Inderjeet Khajuria, Sardar Trilochan Singh Wazir, president, Sr vice-president and secretary general CCI, Jammu, Rakesh Gupta, Sham Lal Langar and Arun Gupta, President All J&K Passenger Transport Association, Devinder Chowdhary, former Bar president, B S Slathia, Panun Kashmir leaders Dr Agnishekhar and Dr Ajay Chrungoo, Professor Hari Om Mahajan, Narayan Singh, M S Katoch, Anan Sharma, vice-president and secretary general JKHCBA, Jammu, Pranav Kohli, SoS Intl chairman Rajiv Chuni, Sham Lal Basson, Sunita Sharma, Dheeraj Pargal, Inderjeet Sharma and S Rajinder Singh.
Meanwhile, Duggar Pradesh Party strongly condemned the BJP for organizing a criminal attack on the peaceful procession of AIIMS Coordination Committee activists led by its president Abhinav Sharma, at Kachi Chowni in front of BJP office by pelting stones and described it a sheer frustration on their failure to attend the genuine demand of the people who brought them into power which they prove that they don’t deserve.
Uday Chand, president of the DPP further condemned the BJP for distributing `Laddoos’, organizing dances at their office joined by their legislatures, on the day when the whole nation including Jammu & Kashmir State is observing 7 days mourning on the demise of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, former President of India, that too for misguiding, betraying the people of Jammu region by officially floating a rumor like news quoting their Union Health Minister, Nadda that ‘ Government of India will provide AIIMS like facilities to both the regions, Jammu & Kashmir’ which is totally not a full-fledged AIIMS for Jammu region as per the demand of the people.
National Democratic Party in a meeting held here this evening under the leadership of Ravi Bakshi also condemned attack by the BJP workers on the AIIMS CC procession at Kachi Chawni. The NDP members described this act of the BJP activists as sheer frustration and said that such people indulging in violence should be booked and arrested. They alleged that some BJP people tried to mislead the Jammu people by airing wrong SMS over AIIMS announcement and also celebrated the occasion by dancing and distributing Ladoos to fail the agitation. They stood fully exposed before the people of Jammu as they have damaged the interests of Jammu people immensely.
