POONCH May 17: Instead of bringing the `Achhe Din’ promised by the BJP, the Government at the Centre has brought only miseries to the common people of the nation.
This was stated by Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial president JKNC while addressing a series of meetings in Block Loran, Mandi and around Poonch city while campaigning for NC candidate Mian Altaf Ahmed today.
Addressing the gathering, Gupta castigated the present dispensation for neglecting the people residing in rural and remote areas. He asserted the ruling Government has miserably failed to stand on the expectations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir despite getting mandate for consecutive two terms.
He said that during the last 10 years, the price of LPG has more than doubled, unemployment has broken all previous records with J&K leading in the unemployment chart, Central Govt failed to create 2 crore jobs per year as promised, corruption at peak, recruitment scams are taking a heavy toll, farmers suffering heavy losses due to anti-policies, no policies for industries, healthcare facilities at back foot, etc. Gupta urged the voters to support NC candidate Mian Altaf Ahmed.
Jan said that BJP has befooled the people with its hollow promises before the elections and now the people of Jammu and Kashmir have today realized that they have been totally betrayed by the saffron party. He said that the people across the State are being made to suffer in absence of basic amenities for no fault of theirs. He asserted that the Government has virtually broken the spine of common people due to its anti-people policies, the results of which are easily visible to everyone.
Jan anguished over the poor condition of roads, especially the Poonch to Loran route, since 2014. The roads are in terrible shape, risking the safety of commuters and hindering connectivity, reflecting the seriousness of Government towards the rural areas, he added. He asserted that only NC can fulfill the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He appealed to the people to ensure maximum participation in the polling and vote in favour of Mian Altaf Ahmed to get rid of misrule of the present Government.
Senior leaders Rakesh Singh Raka, Ch Maqsood, Parvinder Singh and Afzal Sheikh were also present.
