BJP trying to politicize Balakote attack: Dr Karan Singh

CHENANI, Apr 10: Former Sadar-e-Riyasat and veteran Congress leader Dr Karan Singh has accused the BJP of trying to politicize the Balakote strikes notwithstanding all political parties supported the Indian Air Force action
“BJP is unfortunately trying to politicize the Balakote attack, which has been supported by all opposition parties including the Congress. They are trying to mislead the people by quoting exaggerated and unverified figures of casualties,” he said while addressing a public meeting in Chenani town yesterday.
Demanding outcome of the enquiry into the major security lapse as a result of which the CRPF convoy was attacked in Pulwama, Dr Karan Singh sought to know whether action has been taken against those responsible.
While questioning over the difference between the Congress and BJP manifestos, Dr Karan Singh said that he had not yet had time to read both of them in detail, but there was a clear ideological diverges as the Congress has always stood for a pluralistic, inclusive, democratic and liberal society with due emphasis on federalism and human rights.
He expressed shock that a senior and highly educated leader Arun Jaitly dismissed the Congress manifesto as having been written by the “Tukde Tukde gang”. “This was a grave insult to the Congress for which an apology should be demanded from him,” he said.
Dr Karan Singh also claimed that there was a strong upsurge of support for the Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh throughout the Udhampur Parliamentary constituency.
