JAMMU, Dec 14: BJP Kashmir Displaced District (KDD) leaders during their visit to Migrant Camp Purkhoo today interacted with the residents of the camp, taking stock of their long-pending demands.
Addressing a key community need, Chetan Wanchoo a party leader oversaw the donation of a wall-to-wall carpet for the Community Hall, a long-standing request of the camp residents, aimed at enhancing facilities for social and cultural gatherings.
BJP leaders also visited the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at the camp, where they held detailed discussions with the Medical Officer regarding healthcare delivery. The shortage of essential medicines and infrastructure gaps were noted for urgent action.
At the Mata Saraswati Pustakalaya Library-cum-Skill Development Centre, BJP leaders engaged with members of Mahila Shakti, gaining insights into ongoing skill development initiatives and community welfare activities. The women apprised them of challenges they face, which were duly noted for future interventions.
Addressing the community, Wanchoo emphasized, “The Kashmiri Pandits community has endured years of hardship and neglect. Today, it is only the bjp that stands with the displaced, ensuring their dignity, welfare, and rehabilitation. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, long-pending issues are being acknowledged and addressed with seriousness, reflecting BJP’s commitment to justice, development, and security for the migrant community.”
K.K. Koul, Mandal President, stated, “The presence of senior BJP leaders at Purkhoo Camp demonstrates the party’s genuine concern for Kashmiri Pandits.
BJP leaders assured residents that all genuine concerns would be prioritized. They reaffirmed BJP’s sustained efforts to improve healthcare services, community infrastructure, and opportunities for women empowerment and skill development, signaling a continued grassroots commitment to the holistic development of the Kashmiri migrant community.
Wanchoo was accompanied by BJP KDD Mandal president, K.K. Koul and senior party functionaries, Som Nath Saraf, Shashi Bhat, Ram Ji, Avtar Krishan Koul , and Kamal Ji, today conducted an extensive visit to the Purkhoo Kashmiri Migrants Camp.
