JAMMU, May 29: Senior NC leader Rajesh Gupta today strongly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and alleged that the party is staging a political drama over the ongoing eviction issue in Nai Basti, Jammu.
In a press statement issued, Gupta said, “For years, the people of Jammu have faced neglect, discrimination and exploitation under BJP’s rule.”
He highlighted the BJP’s silence on key issues including unemployment, the drug menace, illegal tolls and the allocation of local resources to outsiders.
Referring to BJP’s recent support for shopkeepers facing eviction, Gupta stated, “This is nothing but a last-ditch attempt to regain lost ground among Jammu’s disillusioned electorate. Where was this outrage when local youth were being robbed of jobs and resources?”
