JAMMU, June 11: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu District, held a strong protest demonstration at Kachi Chhawni against the persistent shortage of electricity and water supply in the region. The protest was led by District president Advocate Rajesh Gupta, who voiced serious concerns over the deteriorating condition of basic civic amenities in Jammu under the present administration.
Addressing the media, Advocate Gupta lambasted the National Conference (NC)-led state government for its failure to provide uninterrupted electricity and regular water supply to the residents, despite 100% metering and cabling in most parts of the area. He directly held the State Government accountable for the growing public frustration.
“In this extreme heat, residents are facing 6 to 7 hours of unscheduled power cuts daily, severely impacting senior citizens and students who are preparing for examinations. The situation is worsening with each passing day since the formation of the new state government,” he added.
He further stated that the erratic power supply has also disrupted water distribution in several areas, compounding the misery of the people. Gupta warned the administration if the issues are not addressed immediately and regular power supply is not ensured, the BJP will intensify its protests across Jammu.
Prominent BJP leaders and workers including Sunit Raina, Ravikant, Anil Masoom, Asha Gupta, Ramesh Gupta, Raman Sharma, Keshav Chopra, Dr Akshay Sharma, Sanjeev Sahni, Suman Mahaldar, Kushant Prajapati, Aadarsh Jathiar, Advocate Arvind Khajuria, Ritiz Khajuria, Sanjiv Gupta, Anu Gupta and many others participated in the protest.
