BJP has sold its political soul for power: Harsh

JAMMU, Feb 3: Reacting to the statement of Ex CM, Omar Abdullah accusing PDP of having entered into a “Faustian bargain” for power,  JKNPP Chairman Harsh Dev Singh said that it was rather the BJP which had bartered its political soul for crumbs of power.
He said that while the PDP had refused to compromise with its political agenda and was unabashedly pursuing its Kashmir centric election manifesto including appeasement of separatists, release of stone pelters  etc, the BJP had surrendered all its professed promises and 70 years old ideology to satiate its lust for power.
“Having pledged during elections to demolish the “Baap-Beti” party, the BJP lost no time after elections to woo the former literally begging before it to accept it as its junior partner in the Government,” he added.
Harsh Dev lamented that all the election time promises made by the BJP,  including review of special status of State, grant of state subject rights to WPR,  separate townships for KP in the Valley etc,  were consigned to the dustbin by the saffron leaders only to assume the role of junior partner and to play a second fiddle to the PDP led Government . “Having divorced its core fundamentals and bold promises at the altar of power politics,  the BJP compromised not only with the remnants of its own dignity but with the honour and pride of Dogras by endorsing the separatist agenda in the State,” deplored Harsh.
Harsh Dev Singh said that the BJP had penned down its obituary on the very day it had entered into the “Faustian bargain” with the PDP and signed the obnoxious AoA,  “With its death having occurred three years ago, what we see today is the pale forlorn shadow of a once vibrant jingoistic party that would nail anyone and everyone, while in opposition, for uttering a word against the national symbols”, remarked Harsh adding that  people of Jammu , led by JKNPP,  would soon perform its last rites so that the captive soul of the BJP is released from the clutches of satan and is able to rest in peace.
