JAMMU Jan 18: The BJP State SC Morcha under the leadership of its president, Dharminder Kumar, convened a crucial preparatory meeting to finalize the week-long celebrations of Sri Guru Ravidass Jayanti here, today.
The meeting brought together State office bearers, district presidents, and key members of the State and district teams to ensure seamless planning and execution of the upcoming events, scheduled from January 31 to February 7 across the Union Territory.
The meeting saw enthusiastic participation from the State team, along with all conveners, co-conveners, and district-level members. The primary objective was to ensure coordinated efforts and effective implementation of the planned activities at every level, reflecting the Morcha’s commitment to honouring Sri Guru Ravidass Ji’s timeless message of equality, social harmony, and human dignity.
Dharminder Kumar, president of SC Morcha, delivered a comprehensive welcome address, outlining the detailed programme schedule for the week-long celebrations.
He emphasized that Guru Ravidass Ji’s teachings continue to inspire society and urged Morcha members to actively engage with the public, spreading the message of social justice, brotherhood, and inclusive development as envisioned by Sri Guru Ravidass Ji and championed by the BJP.
Baldev Singh Billawatia, BJP general secretary, highlighted the party’s unwavering commitment to the upliftment of Scheduled Castes. He noted that the BJP-led Government has consistently worked for the welfare, empowerment, and dignity of marginalized communities, urging party workers to take these achievements to the grassroots during the celebrations.
Bharat Bhushan, BJP vice president and SC Morcha, Prabhari, stressed the importance of organizing the Guru Ravidass Jayanti programs with discipline and dedication, noting that such events strengthen social unity and offer an opportunity to align the party’s ideology with the teachings of great saints.
Jagdish Bhagat, Morcha Seh Prabhari, described Sri Guru Ravidass Ji’s life as a source of inspiration for building an egalitarian society, calling on Morcha members to work selflessly for social harmony.
Balbir Ram Rattan, BJP spokesperson, spoke on the relevance of Guru Ravidass Ji’s philosophy in contemporary times and the BJP’s role in preserving and promoting the legacy of great social reformers.
