BHADERWAH, Aug 31: BJP activists here today staged a strong protest demonstration against the acute shortage of drinking water.
The protest was led by BJP state secretary, Advocate Manjeet Razdan who accused the authorities of neglecting the very basic civic needs of the people.
Addressing the protesters, Razdan flayed NC led Government and the Jal Shakti Department for their failure to provide uninterrupted water supply.
He said that it was very unfortunate that in the 21st century the people of Bhaderwah are being deprived of the most essential commodity of life due to administrative apathy.
“It has been more than eight days now that the water supply has been disrupted,” Razdan maintained adding, “The condition worsened after four days of continuous rainfall which exposed the inefficiency of the department concerned.”
Urging the authorities to take immediate corrective measures, Razdan appealed to the local administration to ensure early restoration of water supply and make alternate arrangements for drinking water till the system is fully restored.
The protestors warned to intensify the agitation if the issue is not resolved at the earliest.
