As part of the protest, BJP workers and supporters assembled at Abdullah Bridge, Rajouri, and blocked the bridge for some time to press for their demands. The protesters raised slogans against the Power Development Department, highlighting the hardships faced by residents, traders, students, and patients due to erratic power supply, especially during harsh weather conditions.
Addressing the protesters, senior BJP leader, Radhish said that unscheduled power cuts have severely disrupted daily life and economic activities in Rajouri. He alleged that despite repeated representations, the authorities have failed to ensure a regular and uninterrupted power supply. He warned that if the issues are not resolved at the earliest, the BJP will be forced to intensify its agitation in the coming days.
The protest remained peaceful, and the demonstrators demanded immediate intervention by the concerned authorities to address power-related grievances and provide relief to the people. Later, the protest was called off, after assurances from the local administration.
