BJP-PDP proved most opportunist: Congress

KALAKOTE, Dec 22:  Pradesh Congress Committee  chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir has said that PDP and BJP have proved to be most opportunist and stood exposed before the people of this country.
Addressing a largely attended workers convention at Kalakote today, Mir said that our democracy has its glorious past traditions and India is known for a vibrant democracy in the world but regretted that the nineteen (19) month of ‘Modi’ regime has pursued  politics of Vendetta against the Congress and other opposition parties to deter them from playing role of an effective opposition against the wrong policies of this Government. He said that these are tactics of maligning the democracy and weakening the democratic values of our country, while asserting that Congress and its leadership would not be deterred to play its role of a vibrant opposition to expose the falsehood of the ‘Modi’ regime.
PCC president said that communal and divisive politics is biggest threat to the secular fabric, unity and integrity of the State and the nation and said that Congress is the only option which represents the multi- regions and multi cultural character of our country. He said that the kind of religious ‘intolerance’ is a result of politics of opportunism for vested political interests and asked people to rise above religion and castes consideration to strengthen the secular and progressive politics for a better future.
Mir said that the PDP and BJP have been proved to be most opportunistic and power hungry parties who surrendered their ideologies and forgot their promises with only agenda to resume power. He said that people of Delhi, Bihar as well as in Gujarat in the Panchayat and Local Bodies elections have rejected the politics of falsehood, hatred and shown a way forward to countrymen and urged the people to reject the politics of betrayal of PDP-BJP in the upcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULB) & Panchayat elections.
Ashok Sharma in his address spoke on various resolutions adopted in the convention regarding the deplorable condition of Siot-Kalakote road which is in dilapidated condition and demanded its widening, enhancement of wages of Lamberdars & Chowkidars, regularization of SPOs, daily wagers, need base workers in various departments, issues of farmers, flood and rain affected people and various other local issues of Kalakote constituency.
Senior leaders Jugal Kishore Sharma, Shabir Khan, Ravinder Sharma,  Ch  Shah Nawaz, Indu Pawar, Pranav Shagotra, also spoke on the occasion.
