JAMMU, June 16: Former minister and senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla today said that PDP-BJP is solely responsible for the overall mess, mis-governance and administrative anarchy through which the State is going through presently. This Government has miserably failed to carry forward development agenda of Congress party.
Calling upon Coalition Government to come clean on public issues, Bhalla said that State Government has failed to deliver on the ground and promises made to people have fallen flat.
Addressing public gathering at Shergarh and Dharap area as a part of his mass contact programme in Gandhi Nagar constituency, to listen to grievances of people of constituency, Bhalla said that BJP has been exposed in Jammu with its false propagandas.
“There is no development at all. The schools which were opened during the regime of Congress have been closed by the Education Department and from these schools, the students are being sent to other schools causing immense hardships for both students and poor parents. Many schools have been abandoned. These structures are of no use now. He said three schools of Dharap Panchayat closed by Govt included at Mohalla Jogian, Dharap and Khawskhan.
Bhalla said that Govt must increase honorarium/salary of Anganwari workers/ helpers, ASHAs and Mid-Day Meal workers. There is need to give hike to the pension for old people, widows, handicapped, orphans and students.
The Congress leader said that the Govt has betrayed the refugees of 1947, 1965 & 1971 from PoK and those from West Pakistan in the recent package announced by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the State. The package of one time settlement of refugees comprising financial assistance/ex-gratia relief of Rs 25 lakhs per family amounting to over 9000 crore alongwith several other concessions recommended by the previous Congress-NC Govt the Centre has been set aside.
He said problems and issues pertaining to the common man are not being addressed and people are facing real hardships due to lack of administration. The condition of roads is deplorable, but the people were facing the worst nightmares due to chaotic power supply, ration shortage and drinking water crises in the constituency.
Bhalla regretted that there was complete mismatch between the Govt announcements and physical delivery on the ground with the affected people struggling for basic amenities and essential commodities in various parts of the State.
