JAMMU, Jan 10: BJP organizes various programmes to intensify its campaign in favour of Citizens Amendment Act today.
BJP senior leaders & former MLCs Ashok Khajuria, Adv. Ramesh Arora, S. Charanjit Singh Khalsa, Ch. Vikram Randhawa and Girdhari Lal Raina slammed the Congress for trying to spread falsehood about the CAA for narrow political gains.
Former MLCs at a press conference here today also appealed the members of civil society to come and collectively support the rally to be organized by common masses of Jammu region on January 12 as the various public forums of Jammu are jointly organizing a mega rally in the favour of CAA.
Ashok Khajuria, while briefing the media, denounced the hatred and violence on the name of CAA being spread in the nation on the directions of Congress.
Ashok Kaul BJP general secretary (org) also lambasted the Congress for misleading people on the name of CAA and said the law has nothing to do with Indian Muslims who are equal citizens of country like other people. He said Muslims should have no doubt about the CAA as they are most safe under BJP rule in the country and India is the only nation which can guarantee safety to Muslims. The programme was organized by Sanjay Baru, secretary of the party. He also educated the people about the CAA and said it does not snatch any body’s rights. Former Minister, Sat Sharma also addressed the meeting.
To dispel the doubts created by opposition parties especially Congress about CAA BJP held a rally at Nowshera in Rajouri today. Addressing the rally party spokesperson and former Minister, Priya Sethi said CAA has nothing to do with the Indian citizens and Congress and other opposition parties were misleading the people to create disturbances in the country. She warned the Congress not to play with fire as the canards spread by it will have serious consequences. Omi Khajruia Prabhari Nowshera also addressed the rally.
To educate the people about benefits of CAA and garner support to defeat the mis-information campaign launched by some political parties, BJP Mahila Morcha Jammu district, under its district president, Rekha Mahajan organised a signature campaign in Nai Basti area of Gandhi Nagar Assembly Constituency.
Mahila Morcha district team took this campaign under party’s nationwide programme on the issue of CAA.
Former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta and BJP Jammu district president Vinay Gupta also joined the campaign. Hundreds of people, including senior citizens, housewives, businessmen and young boys and girls penned down their signatures to support CAA.
