JAMMU, Mar 10: J&K BJP OBC Morcha led by its president, Braham Jyot Satti paid rich tribute to the great social reformer Savitribai Phule on her death anniversary at the party Headquarters, Trikuta Nagar here, today.
J&K BJP general secretary (Org), Ashok Koul along with general secretaries, Baldev Singh Billawatia, and Gopal Mahajan, MLAs Arvind Gupta, Dr. Sunil Bhardwaj, Shagun Parihar, and Devyani Rana, president BJYM, Arun Prabhat, Protocol in charge, Bawa Sharma, Morcha vice president, Shabir Ahmad Zargar, State Morcha general secretaries, Sunny Sangotra, Sham Mehra, and Fayaz Ahmed Najar, Morcha treasurer, Ram Pal, Morcha Executive Member, Anil Balgotra, Morcha district vice president, Anil Prajapati, Morcha district general secretaries, Sanjay Verma, and Rajesh Verma, Morcha publicity secretary, Sudesh Kumar, Morcha Mandal president, Omkar Verma, district vice president, Yousuf Telli among others paid tributes to the great social reformer on the occasion.
On the occasion BJP leaders led by Ashok Koul, paid floral tributes to the portrait of Savitribai Phule and recalled her immense contribution to social justice and women’s empowerment.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Koul said that Savitribai Phule devoted her entire life to the upliftment of the oppressed and marginalized sections of society and fearlessly challenged centuries-old social evils such as caste discrimination and gender inequality. He said that at a time when educating women was considered unacceptable, Savitribai Phule stood firm and laid the foundation of women’s education in India.
Braham Jyot Satti, in his address, said that Savitribai Phule was a guiding force for the OBC movement and social reform in India. He said that her relentless efforts opened new doors of education and awareness for the backward classes. Braham Jyot further said that the BJP OBC Morcha draws inspiration from Savitribai Phule’s life and remains dedicated to protecting the rights, dignity, and opportunities of OBC communities.
