BJP need not to teach us ‘nationalism’: Vikramaditya

KATHUA, Mar 27: Hitting hard at the `baseless criticism’ by BJP candidate Dr Jitendra Singh against Congress party, senior Congress leader and party candidate from Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Constituency Vikramaditya Singh lampooned Saffron party over its lack of knowledge regarding the progress which India witnessed during the Congress’ rule in the last over six decades.
Giving a point by point reference of India’s graph of growth during the last nearly 60 years when the Congress party was in power, Vikramaditya while addressing an election rally at Kathua, made it clear that Congress leadership has a legacy of supreme sacrifices and utmost dedication towards nation and parties like BJP which have a past of going against the national interest especially during freedom struggle have no right to teach nationalism to others.
While addressing a mammoth public gathering here Basohli Constituency, Vikramaditya questioned BJP candidate for Udhampur seat Dr Jitendra Singh regarding his party’s contribution in India’s freedom struggle. He said Congress needs no certificate of nationalism from a party which is wretched in anti-nationalist activism even before the freedom of the country when all the entities were ready to die for the nation.
Talking about developmental pedestal, Vikramaditya highlighted that starting from green revolution, white revolution and industrialization India has made remarkable progress in all spheres of life including the space and nuclear energy sectors only under the realms of Congress’ regimes.
“It is shameful that even Prime Minister nowadays indulges in decrying Congress while inaugurating many of the ventures conceived and designed by this nationalist party comprising flamboyant leaders which never looked backed when need of supreme sacrifice aroused”, he said and added that it is only the Congress Party which can satiate the aspirations of people belonging to diverse origins spread across the nation.
Vikramaditya also substantiated the fact that his personal legacy, since he belonged to the family of erstwhile Dogra rulers of the State, needs no authentication from those who for that matter have no political background as such and have came to limelight only due to extraneous factors. He said that contribution of his family towards State of Jammu and Kashmir is well known to entire world and needs no further explanation.
Seeking public support in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, he said that there is no iota of doubt that only Congress can ensure equitable development of the State and steer nation towards new horizons of peace and prosperity.
