JAMMU, June 22: Admonishing the Party Ministers, the BJP national leadership today urged them to improve their performance, show better results and have better coordination with legislators and party workers.
Not showing satisfaction over the performance of the Party Ministers, BJP national general secretary, incharge J&K Ram Madhav and Party national vice president, Avinash Rai Khanna asked them to act and show better results. Mr Madhav who chaired four meetings of the Party to review the BJP’s performance in first 100 days of its Coalition Government did not show his satisfaction with the functioning of Ministers, said that people expect result oriented performance from them.
Mr Madhav, who sought the detailed report from the Party Ministers one to one, said their performance was not visible on ground. The people are the best judge of the performance of the Government and Party should get a good public feed back for the same, he added.
Sources said Minister of Health and Medical Education, Ch Lal Singh detailed the national leaders about the steps taken by his Ministry for the public welfare. Other Ministers also gave the details of their performance but Mr Madhav said that it should reflect on ground.
Mr Madhav told the Ministers and Party leaders from the State that Delhi is keenly watching their performance and Central leadership wanted result oriented functioning of the Party in the State.
Some MLAs, while expressing their resentment said that there was total lack of coordination and the Ministers hardly take them into the confidence. They stressed on better results and maintained that the coordination among Ministers, legislators and Partymen is a must for the same.
Sources said, one of the MLAs in the meeting said that prior to District Development Board meetings a preliminary meet is held to fix the agenda. But this practice has been done away with and the Legislators are informed two days before about DDB meeting which kills the basic spirit of holding such meetings.
The legislators said that they are answerable to the people in their respective constituencies and in case they don’t seek cooperation from Ministers they are taken to task by the public, sources said, adding some Legislators alleged that when they approach the authorities for the electric pole or laying of water pipes they are being informed by the concerned departments that there are no poles and pipes available with the departments. With this sorry state of affairs they face an embarrassing situation in their constituencies, sources added.
Sources said the Legislators also showed their concern over bad condition of roads and said that immediate steps need to be taken for their restoration on war footing basis.
These Legislators said that the hallmark for joining the coalition was the development of the State and the same should not be ignored as the people have high expectations from the Party.
