JAMMU, Dec 12: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahila Morcha today conducted a series of programmes in district Doda under the leadership of Neha Mahajan, State president of the Morcha alongwith general secretaries Urvashi Gupta and Poonam Gupta.
The proceedings began with an organisational meeting attended by women Karyakartas from various Mandals, where discussions focused on strengthening booth-level coordination, accelerating outreach among women beneficiaries, and reinforcing the party’s organisational structure at the grassroots.
A Mahila Sammellan on Atmanirbhar Bharat was subsequently held at the BJP district office, Doda. Women from multiple Self Help Groups (SHGs) displayed their handcrafted products, highlighting the growing role of rural women in entrepreneurship and self-reliance. During the programme, Urvashi Gupta, State general secretary, BJP Mahila Morcha, read out the Sankalp Patra and administered the pledge of building a Modern and self-reliant India, inspiring all women present to commit themselves to nation-building with renewed energy and dedication.
The programme was graced by the presence of prominent party leaders including district president, Babu Ram Sharma, district general secretary, Rakesh, party spokesperson, Ramesh Khajuria; DDC vice-chairperson, Sangeeta Bhagat; DDC councillor, Jaya Rani Katoch; Mandal president, Satya Sharma.
Addressing the gathering, Neha Mahajan emphasised that women-led development is at the heart of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. She highlighted the crucial role being played by SHGs and grassroots women leaders in transforming local economies, expanding opportunities, and strengthening society. She appreciated the participation of all women attendees and urged Mahila Morcha workers to continue working with commitment, sensitivity, and organisational discipline to ensure that every Government scheme reaches the intended beneficiaries.
