BJP lights earthen lamps, pays tribute to Vajpayee

JAMMU, Dec 24: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir illuminated thousands of earthen lamps on the evening preceding the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna former Prime Minister, Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, which is observed as Good Governance Day on December 25.
Hundreds of lamps were lit at all the places, including Atal Ji’s statue at Atal Chowk near Ambphalla, BJP Headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, BJP office Kachi Chawni, and several other locations across Jammu & Kashmir, symbolizing the guiding light of Atal Ji’s ideals of transparent, people-centric governance and national service.
The programme at the BJP Headquarters was led by J&K BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP, Sat Sharma, along with general secretary (Organization), Ashok Koul, in the presence of vice-presidents, Rekha Mahajan and Rashpaul Verma, general secretaries, Baldev Singh Billawaria and Gopal Mahajan, district presidents, Naresh Singh Jasrotia and Rajesh Gupta, MLAs Ch. Vikram Randhawa and Yudhvir Sethi, secretary, Arun Sharma, media secretary, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, spokesperson, Dr. Tahir Choudhary, Prabharis Ayodhya Gupta, and Brijeshwar Singh Rana, and a large number of party leaders and workers.
As part of the ‘Atal Smriti Varsh’ campaign, the Jammu & Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) paid heartfelt tributes to Atal Bihari Vajpayee by cleaning and garlanding his statue here at Atal Chowk Ambphalla.
Recalling the visionary leadership, unwavering nationalism, and lifelong dedication of Atal Ji to the nation, the tribute was led by J&K BJP general secretary (Organization), Ashok Koul, along with general secretary, Gopal Mahajan, BJP spokesperson, Purnima Sharma, district president, Jammu, Rajesh Gupta, Parmod Kapahi, Subhash Gupta, Suneet Raina, and other senior party leaders and workers. Floral tributes were offered to the statue as a mark of respect. The programme was organized by Purnima Sharma.
