BJP leaders express concern over safety of Kashmiris in Middle East

SRINAGAR, Mar 23: To discuss the evolving humanitarian and geopolitical situation arising from the ongoing Iran-US-Israel conflict, in light of the recent address by PM Modi in Parliament, a meeting of BJP senior leaders was held here today.
The meeting was presided over by the BJP J&K Chief Spokesperson Sunil Sethi and attended by State Spokespersons Altaf Thakur, Manzoor Bhat, Sahil Bashir Bhat and State Co-Media Incharge Sajid Yousuf Shah.
The leaders expressed serious concern over the safety and well-being of Indian citizens, particularly workers and residents from J&K currently in Middle Eastern countries affected by the conflict.
They emphasised the importance of continuous monitoring of the situation and close coordination with the Government of India to ensure timely support, including evacuation measures if required.
Referring to the Prime Minister’s statement in Parliament, the leaders appreciated India’s balanced and responsible diplomatic approach, which prioritises peace, dialogue and the protection of Indian nationals abroad.
They commended the Government of India for its proactive steps to safeguard national interests while advocating for de-escalation and stability in the region.
The meeting also resolved to establish a coordination mechanism to assist families in Jammu & Kashmir whose relatives are in the affected areas, ensuring the dissemination of accurate information and the provision of necessary assistance.
