JAMMU, Aug 27: The state unit of BJP launched Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana under its Nation wide programme on the eve of Raksha Bandhan here today. BJP State general secretary Munish Sharma, State secretary Pawan Khajuria, State spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, office secretary Naresh Dogra launched the Yojana in presence of a large number of women at party headquarters here.
The initiative for this Yojana was taken by Mahila Morcha leader Sanjita Dogra, who announced to pay premium for one hundred such beneficiaries.
Munish Sharma, on this occasion, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a number of welfare schemes aimed at economical upliftment of the poor and needy women across the country. He said that it has been for the first time that Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana has been launched on the festival of Raksha Bandhan with a sole motive of ensuring Suraksha with Raksha from the brothers to their sisters. He said that when a sister ties Rakhi on the wrist of her brother, the brother in return gives some kind of gift to the sister with a promise of working for her raksha(safety) but now suraksha has been added as one more gift. He said that the brother is giving and insurance policy of two lakh rupees to her sister, which will obviously prove to be a great financial help in case of an accident. He said that under this scheme every elected representative has been asked to pay premium for eleven thousands of such policies in his or her constituency and expressed hope that more and more women will be covered under this scheme in the coming days. He also congratulated Sanjita Dogra for taking the initiative adding that it will inspire the other leaders and activists of the party to follow the same in their respective areas and be a part of this noble cause.
