JAMMU, Nov 28: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kashmir Displaced District (KDD), led by district president Rajeev Pandita, today submitted a comprehensive memorandum along with numerous applications to the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Dr Arvind Karwani, urging immediate and effective action.
The requests submitted were meticulously compiled at the BJP KDD office over the past two weeks. Pandita and the district leadership had earlier assured applicants that their concerns would be taken up on priority, and today’s meeting reinforced the party’s resolve to honour that commitment.
During the meeting, Dr Arvind Karwani extended a positive assurance to the delegation, promising that all genuine issues highlighted in the memorandum would be addressed on a priority basis.
The discussions covered a wide range of important and pending matters impacting the displaced population. Prominent among these were the allotment of pending transit accommodations under the PM’s Package, inclusion of non-PM package employees in the allotment lists, allotment of shops at Jagti and Muthi and the status of the file regarding enhancement of relief.
The delegation also raised concerns related to essential park maintenance, installation of protective shields on transformers in Jagti, completion of allied works in the Odina and Fathehpora transit accommodations, and the resolution of pending bifurcation and inclusion cases. They further sought urgent allotment of quarters at Jagti to several needy families, along with action on several other community-centric issues requiring long overdue attention.
