RAJOURI, Aug 20: As a part of their ‘Mission 44+’ for the forthcoming Assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir State, the Rajouri district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today organised a huge rally in Thannamandi tehsil of Rajouri district.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP State Vice President Advocate Vibodh Gupta highlighted the achievements registered by the NDA Government in the Centre headed by Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi in the last two and half months in which he said that the special attention was given to the Jammu and Kashmir State with the two visits of PM himself in which he inaugurated and announced various projects.
He further said that the discrimination with twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch would end only when the BJP would come to power in the State.
BJP is committed for four-lanning of Jammu-Poonch National Highway, sanctioning of railways project, eradication of unemployment, enhancing tourism sector in the twin border districts, Vibod said and added that with the formation of BJP’s Government in the State these projects will be taken on priority.
Former Member Parliament and ex-MLA Ch. Talib Hussain, who recently joined BJP, also addressed the rally and said that the BJP is the party of common man where a person even from a poor family can become Chief Minister and then PM of the country.
Talib highlighted that the recent results of Lok Sabha elections, in which BJP won three seats for the first time in the State, have shown that the people had out-rightly rejected the divisive politics and gave a huge blow to the parties which always be-fooled the people on the name of religion and projected BJP having communal agenda.
Talib also lauded the achievements registered by then NDA Government headed by then PM Atal Behari Vajpayee in the Centre and he termed it as a ‘golden period’ for the people of Jammu and Kashmir State. During NDA’s rule the State was brought out from the darkness of militancy to the era of development, he asserted.
He further said that the BJP is a strong party having set agendas and the people of the State in general and Rajouri district in particular must vote to make the BJP victorious in the coming Assembly elections.
Ex-Municipal Committee Chairman Rajinder Gupta also spoke on the occasion.
