LUCKNOW, Nov 7:
Hitting out at both the BJP and the SP, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati today alleged that while BJP was again trying to lure the people with their fake promises in Uttar Pradesh, the ruling Samajwadi Party has already conceded its defeat by showing its interest in forging alliance with other parties.
“The entire Samajwadi Party is a divided house. Even its core vote bank Yadav would be divided in two parts — one going with Akhilesh Yadav and another with Shivpal Yadav.
Muslims should look into this factor and think once before considering to go with them,” she said, adding that SP was trying for a pre-poll alliance as it knew it will be routed out.
Addressing a press conference here, Ms Mayawati reiterated that BSP will go alone in the elections and does not need any support as it was confident in getting absolute majority in the elections.
Criticising BJP president Amit Shah, she said the saffron party too has failed to deliver during its two and a half year regime, therefore it was bringing out Parivartan yatra similarly like the SP’s Vikas yatra.
“The BJP announced lucrative promises like giving ‘Maruti’ to each family of Bundelkhand at its Parivartan yatra flag off ceremony in Jhansi in the manner it had promised to give Rs 15 lakh to each person during the last Lok Sabha election.
The BSP president said it was unfortunate that the BJP has not promised the people of Bundelkhand about the creation of a separate state and was just trying to lure them with the fake promises. The former Chief Minister also asked the ruling SP in the state to concentrate on the prevailing misrule and do something to control the smog in the state. (UNI)
