JAMMU, Sept 10: BJP Ex-servicemen Cell in its meeting here today held under the leadership of Col. (retd) BS Sambyal discussed various problems of Ex-servicemen in the State.
The meeting expressed concern that over 13 percent VAT is charged on CDS items in J&K on Army and Ex-servicemen. This practice except J&K is not prevalent any where in the country.
The meeting, which was also attended by Sub Major (retd) Bishamber Singh Jasrotia discussed the reservation issue for ex-servicemen in the State.
Meanwhile, a team of Ex-servicemen Cell under the leadership of C A Sat Sharma, convener of the party cells along with Sub Major (retd) B S Jasrotia toured the various areas Pargwal, Rangpura, Pindi Pind, Tikwal, Manasa in Akhnoor tehsil.
The team discussed various issues including widow pension, old age pension and issue of labour cards.
